Apologies

Firstly apologies for not blogging for a long long time.  Lots and lots have happened since I last blogged, which have taken my focus away from blogging.

My last post told you all that I was 5 weeks pregnant, well that post was a few years ago, so here is a brief catch up.

A little over two years ago, our beautiful peapod was born by emergency c section, (peapod is her nickname and a name that has stuck with her)  she was double breach and so a c section was planned, but before they could do that they had to give me injections to mature her lungs as she was going to be born at approx 38 weeks, I went in for the injection and Isla (peapod) got into distress, and had to be delivered as an emergency.  She was born 4.35pm on  Monday 10th June 2013 (12 days earlier than her due date), the Mr was working long days and wasnt able to be there, but luckily for me, after a few frantic phonecalls, my dad stepped in to collect Neve, and my mam, bless her cotton socks, was there with me through the whole c section.  I had rang the Mr's boss to tell him to come home urgently, but he didn't get the message until after Isla was born, although he did do the 40 odd mile journey in record time (and on two wheels around corners or so I'm told) I rang my mam and asked her to come sit with me until the Mr got there, then 5 mins later I rang her again and said you might have to stay with me until the baby is born, then again 5 mins later I rang her and said please come now, they are saying peapod needs to be delivered within the next 30 mins, and my wonderful parents dropped everything and my mam appeared by my side as I was moved from the out patients to the labour ward,  my mam donned theatre blues as I was given 2 epidurals (the first don't work) all the time a midwife was shouting that peapods heart rate was dropping dangerously low, I was so scared, and i knew, although wouldn't admit it, that both our lives were in the hands of the surgeon, as I was wheeled into theatre my mam appeared she held my hand, she talked to me, she wiped my hair from my eyes and she kept me calm, I WILL NEVER be able to repay her for what she did for me that day, Isla was born, and needed immediate intervention, CPR and oxygen, I didn't know any of this as my fantastic mam had heard and was watching what they were doing to my baby and she decided to take her little girls mind away from the commotion, as I too needed some serious "putting back together" so again my lovely mam kept one eye on her new tiny granddaughter and one eye on me her eldest daughter, never letting on to me just how serious things were beyond that c section curtain.  however I am pleased to be able to say that peapod is now a healthy 2 year old running about and creating mayhem.

When peapod was a couple of weeks old we were told that she had been born with Congenital Hip Dysplasia, (clicky hip to most of you)  we were told that a Pavlic  harness for a few weeks would sort it out, anyway to cut a very long story short, it seems that peapod had a severe case of hip dysplasia, and it took 3 weeks of pavlic harness & 7 months on being in a hip spica and about 5 rounds of surgery, for her hip to finally "grow" normally.

This is just a quick update and I promise that I will try and update more often in future.

I have loads more to tell you all,

As always hug your kiddie winkles close tonight.
